Fall 2020 — Play in the Pandemic!

Given the global health crisis, it has been a challenge to adapt our traditional training into a format that provides for safety and connection. As a result, we are offering our training for the Fall 2020 in a different, online format — supplemented by distanced/masked small group play, outdoors:

DvT NYC Practitioner Training — Saturdays, 10:00AM–5:30PM

[Sep 26, Oct 17, Nov 21, Dec 12, Jan 16] Semester Cost: $480

Our ongoing cohort of trainees will continue the practice of community building, focused training in methods of small group and 1:1 online play, and group supervision in Developmental Transformations. Practitioner training costs cover all of the Saturday activities described below as well as the morning.

DvT NYC "Online Play" Practice Sessions — Saturdays, 2:15PM-3:45PM

[Sep 26, Oct 17, Nov 21, Dec 12, Jan 16] Each session $40
Open to trainees and members of our extended community who have some prior exposure to Developmental Transformations, our early afternoon session focuses on adapting DvT techniques for the online environment, transforming traditional DvT techniques for small group work, 1:1 play, and cauldron via Zoom!

DvT NYC Online Seminar — Saturdays, 4:00PM-5:30PM

[Sep 26, Oct 17, Nov 21, Dec 12, Jan 16] Semester Cost: $175
As part of practitioner training, we offer two seminars throughout the course of the training year. Since we are working online this Fall, these seminars will be open to community members who wish to further their study of the concepts and theories involved in DvT play

  • Core DvT Concepts/Theories (Level 1 Seminar) — taught by Tami Gatta

  • Mindful Practice of Play (Level 2 Seminar) — taught by Adam Reynolds

DvT NYC Pandemic-style In-Person Playing in Public — Sundays, 1:00PM-4:00PM
[Sep 27, Oct 18, Nov 22, Dec 13, Jan 17] Each Session: $60

Masked.  Socially distant.  Outdoors.  Weather permitting, a small group of (no more than 8) players will gather in a public location to play outdoors, acknowledging the centrality of the body to the DvT experience, as well as the unique challenges of play without the potential for touch, without full faces, and without the boundary of four walls.
