Developmental Transformations NYC
Fall Semester 2022!

It’s not a controversial statement to say we are living in un-playful times. When things aren’t outright dangerous, hostile, and risky — it often seems we feel stuck, frozen, unable to change. These patterns in the world are repeated in our work with clients and surface in our daily lives with friends, loved ones, and family.

If you are interested in joining a community of creative people determined to explore how play can make a difference in our lives and in the lives of those we work with, we would love to have you as part of our Developmental Transformations training cohort for Fall 2022. Together we will explore how to use this drama therapy method to expand our playfulness at work, at home, and within ourselves.

We meet one weekend per month September 2022 to January 2023, and our semester includes:

  • 60 hours of training/instruction

  • Practice facilitating and participating in DvT individual sessions and groups

  • Supervision in integrating DvT into practice professional or personally

  • Exploration of DvT principles and supporting theories related to embodied practice, play, and creativity

  • Community building with a group of passionate, creative trainees and faculty

Practitioner Training at the basic level requires two semesters of study to complete, as well as supervised practice in the method. We are hosted by our community partner, Community Access, at the site of their vibrant East Village PROS program.

Our Dates for our Fall 2022 Training Weekends are:
September 10-11, October 8-9, November 12-13, December 10-11, January 14-15.

To learn more about the training, inquire about our tuition plans, and to reserve a spot, please inquire by email at dvt.nyc@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you!

One semester + additional written work meets the criteria for a 3-credit drama therapy elective for Alternate Route RDT Drama Therapy Training. Training hours (with approval of BCT) can contribute to other coursework for that program as well.  Some or all of the training hours may contribute to LCAT Continuing Education training.
